In the southern part of our region, CHINCHÓN with its porticoed Plaza Mayor, is one of the most colorful and sigular towns of Castile.
Another pretty place is COLMENAR DE OREJA, and the Tajuña Green Route.
In the northern mountain range of Madrid, there are wonderful natural locations, NAVACERRADA with its Winter Resort, RASCAFRÍA with its imposing “Monasterio del Paular”, MANZANARES EL REAL with its impressive Castle of the “Duques del Infantado” and BUITRAGO DEL LOZOYA with its medieval wall, its singular Picasso Museum and its unique and wonderful “Hayedo de Montejo”.
TORRELAGUNA and its surroundings are worth a visit.
In the western mountain range there is a very important natural park called GREDOS and special attention should be given to the beautiful town of SAN MARTÍN DE VALDEIGLESIAS and its lake calle “Pantano de San Juan”, also not to far away is the town of NAVALCARNERO.
